HTC U Ultra and Desire 10 Pro price slashed

The HTC U Ultra smartphone was launched in February this year at Rs 59,990.

HTC has reportedly reduced the price of HTC U Ultra and Desire 10 Pro smartphones, according to Manish Khatri of Mahesh Telecom, a Mumbai based mobile phone retailer. As per the tweet, HTC has reduced the price of HTC U Ultra by Rs 7,000 and will now be available at Rs 52,990. The HTC U Ultra smartphone was launched in February this year at Rs 59,990.

On the other hand, the HTC Desire 10 Pro which was launched in India last year for Rs 26,490 will now be available for Rs 23,990. However, at the time of writing, the smartphones were still retailing at the same price of Rs Rs 59,900 and Rs 26,490 for HTC U Ultra and Desire 10 Pro respectively on HTC’s estore.

For the specs, the U Ultra sports a 5.7-inch QHD display with a screen of 2560×1440 pixels along with a secondary display of 2.0-inch with 160×1040 pixels resolution. The secondary display functions similar to what we have seen in LG V20 in the past. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. The device is backed by 4GB of RAM and comes in two storage option namely 64GB and 128 GB, with an expandable storage option.

On the camera front, the device sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.55-micron pixels, f/1.8 aperture, hybrid which include inbuilt phase detection autofocus and laser autofocus, OIS, dual tone LED flash. For the front, there is a 16-megapixel snapper with f/2.0 aperture, 28mm focal length. The device runs on 7.0 Nougat with HTC Sense on top of it and is juiced by 3000 mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0. Further, The company has ditched the 3.5mm in favour of USB-C connector and a new feature known as HTC USonic, which analyses your inner ears with a sonar-like pulse to enhance the overall listening experience.

HTC Desire 10 Pro has a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display with 400ppi with protection. It has an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor, 4 GB of RAM, HTC BoomSound stereo speakers in the front, and Dolby Audio technology. The smartphone comes with a 20-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, BSI sensor, laser autofocus Æ’/2.2 and 27.8mm focal length, Auto HDR mode, Panorama mode, Continuous shooting. For selfies, it comes with a 13-megapixel front camera. The HTC Desire 10 comes with 64 GB inbuilt storage which can be expanded through a micro SD card to up to 2TB. This Android 6.0 Marshmallow based smartphone has HTC’s Sense UI on top and a 3,000 mAh battery with power saving mode which is said to offer upto 19 hours of talk time and 20 days of standby time on network. The device also features a fingerprint sensor on the back.

For connectivity, the Desire 10 Pro dual offers 4G, WiFi, GPS/AGPS + GLONASS, WiFi, 4.2, 3.5 mm stereo audio jack and micro-USB 2.0. It comes with the Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor, Compass sensor, Sensor Hub and Motion G-sensor. The phone measures 156.5 x 76 x 7.86 mm and weighs around 165 grams.
