HTC has informally announced that Android 4.4 KitKat update will be released for its HTC One smartphone by the end of January next year. The official Twitter account of HTC USA shared the information. Meanwhile, HTC has announced the commencement of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update roll out for the compatible devices.
HTC is almost ready to roll out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the existing Android 4.2 Jelly Bean running devices – HTC One, One mini, and Butterfly S. More HTC smartphones will get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update packaged with HTC Sense 5 user interface.
By the end of January, HTC plans to deliver the Android 4.4 KitKat update with HTC Sense 5.5 UI for the HTC One in North America. So it is safe to expect the same update for India based HTC One owners. The HTC Sense 5.5 UI update brings several improvements in the BlinkFeed like Instagram, Foursquare integration. Several tweaks and under-the-hood improvements are expected with this update packaged with the Android 4.4 KitKat code.
As of now, HTC is yet to define the timeline and list of devices that are expected to get the Android 4.4 KitKat update.
