Huawei is gearingup for a couple of launches in February ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) which will commence from 25th of this month. Apart from Honor V9, whichwe had reportedearlier, Honor8 Youth Edition smartphone is also expected to be launched on 21 February in China.
A new teaser posted on Huawei’s Weibo account, suggest the launch of Honor 8 Youth Edition smartphone as well, along with Honor V9. The teaser poster shows China youth icon ‘Wu Yi Fan’, a Chinese-born Canadian actor, singer and model, who recently made his Hollywood debut in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. To make this simple, Honor 8 Youth Edition smartphone is Honor 8 Lite which was recently launched in Finland at 269 Euro.
As far as specifications of Honor 8 Youth Edition aka Honor 8 Lite is concerned, it features a 5.2-inch full HD 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1920×1280 pixels. on top of it. It is fueled by an octa-core Kirin 655 processor, along with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 16GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. There is also a fingerprint scanner, which is integrated on its back panel. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with EMUI 5.0 on top of it and is backed up by a 300mAh non-removable battery. On the camera front, it has a 12-megapixel camera with F2.2 aperture, LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front-camera with a 77-degree angle of view. Besides, the smartphone offers 4G/LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS/A-GPS. The handset measures 147.2 x 72.94 x 7.6 mm and weighs 147 grams.
Honor V9 expected specification based on earlier leaks and spotting:
Honor V9 will feature a 5.7-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixel and will be powered by a 2.4GHz Kirin 960 octa-core processor, along with Mali M71 GPU. The smartphone will have two variant- 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and other with 6GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage.The Honor V9 will also have an option to expand the storage up-to128GB via microSD card. On the camera front, the smartphone will have the dual-camera module at the rear panel, which will come with a combination of 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. On the front, the smartphone is said to have an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies and video chats. The fingerprint sensor also sits at the back. The device will get its juices from a 3900/4000mAh battery and will run on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The smartphone measures 157 × 77.5 × 6.97mm and weighs 184 grams. Further, the Honor V9 said to be priced at Yuan 2699, which is approximately Rs 26,436.
