Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has started seeding a new update to its latest gaming-centric smartphone, the Honor Play. The new update brings new features along with several bug fixes and other improvements.
The update carries version number COR-AL00 8.2.0.125 and it weighs around 778MB, reports The Android Soul. The update is currently rolling out via Over the Air (OTA) and users can check for it by going to Settings > System > System Updates and tap on Check for Update.
To begin with, the new update brings AIS or Artificial Intelligence Stabilization, which is similarly found in the flagship Huawei P20 Pro. The company claims that the AIS has a better performance as compared to EIS (electronic image stabilization). it stabilises photos and videos better as compared to the latter.
Further, the new update also brings a fix for the GPU Turbo technology. Honor GPU Turbo helps in optimising gaming performance of the device. However, multiple users reported several bugs and lags in the new technology. The update addresses this issue. Apart from this, it also fixes stability issue for Swift app, Party mode and Watermark. The update also brings latest Android security patch.
To recall, the company introduced the Honor Play smartphone in India in August this year. The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 19,999 for 4GB + 32GB version and Rs 23,999 for 6GB + 64GB. The major highlight of the smartphone is that is powered by Huawei’s flagship processor, the Kirin 970 with a dedicated NPU network.
