Huawei’s Honor brand launched Honor Band 4 last year. Now seems the company will bring its successor soon which will be likely called the Band 5.
Company CEO Zhao Ming teased the new wearable on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, giving us a look at its design. For the looks, the Honor Band 5 is similar to the Honor Band 4 with the same circular button. The Band 5 has a coloured display which appears to be an AMOLED display.
Apart from the design, Zhao Ming has also teased a few features of the upcoming wearable. As per him, the fitness tracker can monitor blood oxygen levels, detect fatigue and listlessness, record poor sleep and even detect hypoxemia dizziness. Along with that, the device will also offer all the standard health band features like heart rate monitoring.
Zhao did not reveal the exact launch date of the Band 5, but taking note that Honor Band 4 was announced alongside the Honor 8X, it is expected that the Band 5 might make its debut alongside Honor 9X which will be unveiled on July 23 in China.
To recall, the Honor Band 4 comes with 0.95-inch AMOLED display with a touchscreen that is protected by a 2.5D curved screen. The fitness band has a circular Home button at the front. It can track the calories burnt, distance covered, steps and swimming speed and will also notify you about your incoming calls and texts. The band comes with Huawei TruSeen 2.0 heart rate technology to allow for 24-hour continuous heart rate tracking. It has a 100mAh battery which claims to offer 6-day battery life. The Honor Band 4 offers Bluetooth v4.2 and NFC. It has a 100mAh battery which claims to offer 6-day battery life.
