This was an eventful week that saw many mid-range devices being launched in India. We have compiled a list of the devices which were launched in India this week.
The new Canvas Fire 5 has front firing speakers and Auro 3D sound technology. As per Micromax, the Auro-3D is a next generation audio format that delivers a full three-dimensional sound spread capable of reproducing natural acoustic space. With Canvas Fire 5, you will also get 6 month free access to premium Gaana+ services that allow users access to unlimited song downloads.
The Android Marshmallow based Canvas Fire 5 has a 1.3 GHz quad core MediaTek processor, 1GB DDR3 RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, expandable storage slot for upto 64GB micro SD card, 8 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera and a 5.5 inch HD IPS display. The phone has WiFi, dual SIM, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G connectivity. The smartphone comes with the Gravity Calling feature that makes it easy for consumers to take the call from any side. It is powered by a 2500 mAh battery.
The Micromax Canvas Fire 5 will be available offline in Champagne, Grey and Silver colours at Rs 6,199.
Honor announced the launch of Honor 5C in India at Rs 10,999. It will be available from Flipkart. You can register for the phone from 2 PM today while the first flash sale will be held at 2 PM on June 30. It can also be purchased from Honor India website (store.hinonor.com/in).
The Honor 5C smartphone has a metal unibody design and features a 5.2-inch full HD (1920 x 1080p) display. It is powered by a Kirin 650 64-bit octa-core processor, which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It has an expandable storage slot for a micro SD card of up-to 128GB capacity. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 on top of it and is backed up by a 3000 mAh non-removable battery.
The smartphone has a 13-megapixel shooter on the back with Dual tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera with 77 degrees wide-angle lens is in its front panel. On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers Dual SIM (Dual standby),4G LTE with voLTE support, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor 2.0 on the back panel and houses dual stereo speakers at the bottom on the phone. The handset measures 147.1×73.8×8.3 mm, and weighs 156 grams.
Huawei also announced the T1 7.0 and T1 8.0 tablets for the Indian market. The T1 7.0 is to be available from Flipkart from 2 PM today and has a price tag of Rs 6,999. There is no information as of now about price or features of Honor T1 8.0, nor the company has announced anything about its availability. The Honor T1 7.0 comes with a metal unibody and a 7 inch IPS display that has 1024×600 pixels resolution.
It is powered with Spreadtrum SC7731G quad core processor running at 1.2 GHz and 1GB RAM. Strangely, it has the older Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and has the Emotion 3.0 UI.
The Honor T1 7.0 offers 8 GB of internal memory, 2 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front camera. There is a 4100 mAh Li-Po battery in the tablet which has Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5 mm audio jack, micro SD card slot, Micro USB port, Accelerometer sensor and GPS with GLONASS and AGPS support. This 8.5 mm thin and 278 grams weighing tablet offers 3G (via SIM) and WiFi (b/g/n) for internet connectivity.
Sony’s Xperia XA was made available this week at Rs 20,990. The Sony Xperia XA has 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of inbuilt memory, 200 GB expandable storage slot, Android Marshmallow operating system, Mediatek Helio P10 64 bit octa core processor, a 2300 mAh battery promising up to two days of battery life, and a 5 inch HD display.
The Sony Xperia XA has a 13 megapixel rear camera that is armed with Exmor RS sensor, Hybrid auto focus and 5x zoom feature. It has an 8 megapixel snapper in the front which can capture images in low light and too in wide angle . The Sony Xperia XA has FM radio, 4G connectivity and a host of sound enhancement technologies like Clear Audio+ and X Loud.
Though there was no official announcement from HTC itself, we stumbled upon the HTC 10 Lifestyle on a website for Rs 47,990. As per some reports, the smartphone is also available for purchase through select retail stores as well. The smartphone comes in Carbon Grey and Topaz Gold colours.
HTC 10 Lifestyle has all the features of HTC 10, but comes with a low end chipset. The HTC 10 has the Snapdragon 820 quad core processor, while the HTC 10 Lifestyle has the less efficient Snapdragon 652 octa core processor.
Like HTC 10 smartphone, HTC 10 Lifestyle also comes with latest Android Marshmallow operating system and has the HTC Sense user interface. It also has 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, expandable storage slot as well that can hold a micro SD card of up to 2 TB capacity and a Super LCD5 display with Quad HD (2560X1440 pixels) Resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass.
The HTC 10 Lifestyle has a 12-megapixel rear camera that comes with Laser Auto focus, BSI sensor, Optical Image Stabilisation, f1.8 aperture, Sapphire lens, dual tone LED flash light, Auto HDR, and manual mode feature. This camera can capture 4K videos. For selfies, the phones are armed with 5 megapixel front camera which too is an Autofocus unit and has BSI sensor, f1.8 aperture, Auto HDR and Optical Image Stabilisation feature.
The HTC 10 Lifestyle, which weighs 161 grams, has a nano SIM card slot and offers 4G connectivity. It has NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi (ac), DLNA, and GPS with GLONASS and Beidou. It also comes with HTCBoomsound, Dolby Audio, Hi-Res earphones, three microphones for noise cancellation, 3.5 mm jack, USB type C port, and a 3000 mAh battery that has Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
It has also a lot of Sensors including fingerprint sensor, Ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, Motion G sensor, Compass, Gyro sensor and magnetic sensor.

Oppo A37
Oppo officially announced the launch of Oppo A37 smartphone in India at Rs 11,990. Oppo A37comes in grey and gold colours.
Oppo A37 has a 5-inch HD (1280X720pixel) display with Pixel density of 294 and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It has a 1.2 GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) quad-core processor, Adreno 306 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and 128GB expandable storage slot. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 lollipop operating system with Oppo’s own ColorOS 3.0 on top.
Besides, the Oppo A37 has 2630 mAh Li-Ion battery, an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash light and a 5 megapixel camera on the front. Amazon Kindle
Amazon brought a new Kindle to India this week at Rs 5,999. The latest Amazon Kindle comes with all new design, which is thinner and lighter than its previous versions. The new Kindle comes in white and black color options. The new kindle comes with free Cloud Storage for all Amazon content.
The new Kindle promises to boost the readers’ experience. As per Amazon, it doesn’t strain eyes, as touchscreen display reads like real paper. Its thin and light for one-handed reading, unlike other tablets. The screen has no blue light to disturb your sleep. Besides, the new Kindle claims to offer enhanced battery life, enhanced search, Goodreads integration, Vocabulary Builder, Word Wise and can connect easily to your home WiFi network or WiFi hotspots on the road.
As far as technical specifications are concerned, the new Kindle features a 6″ display made with E Ink Pearl technology and has pixel density of 167 ppi, optimised font technology, and 16-level grey scale. It has a storage capacity of 4 GB. Its battery claims to be fully charge in approximately 4 hours from a computer via USB cable ans its single charge lasts up to four weeks, based on a half hour of reading per day without WiFi.
The Ebook reader supports public and private WiFi networks or hotspots that use the 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11n standard with support for WEP, WPA and WPA2 security using Password authentication or WiFi Protected Setup (WPS). Further, Kindle supports various formats such as Kindle Format 8 (AZW3), Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively; HTML, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP through conversion. The new Kindle measures 160 mm x 115 mm x 9.1 mm and weighs around 161 grams.
The Intex Aqua Sense 5.1 features a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854p) display and is armed with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Spreadtrum (SC7731 Chipset) processor. Along with 512MB DDR2 RAM, it offers 8GB of internal storage. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and is backed by a 2500 mAh Li-ion battery.
The Aqua Sense 5.1 has a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash on the back and 0.3-megapixel (VGA resolution) camera on the front panel. The camera features include Auto focus, Video Playback, Video Rec, Aspect Ratio 4:03, Make Darling, and Aperture 2.8. Further, the smartphone offers Dual SIM, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS/Glonass, WiFi, FM Radio, USB 2.0, Motion Sensor, Emergency Rescue, and Slow Motion Video.

Intex Aqua Classic was launched this week at Rs 4,444. The dual SIM Aqua Classic is equipped with a 5 -inch display that comes with the Gorilla Glass 3 and 480×854 pixels resolution. It has a 1.2 GHz quad core processor, Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, and a 2100 mAh battery.
The Intex Aqua Classic has an expandable storage slot as well that can hold a micro SD card of up to 32 GB. It has a 5 megapixel rear camera.
DataWind MoreGmax 4G7
The Datawind MoreGmax 4G7 is priced at Rs 5,999. The tablet will be available at retail counters as well as the company’s website www.datawind.com. The Datawind MoreGmax 4G7 comes with a 7 inch multi-touch capacitive screen with 1024 x 600 pixels resolution, 0.3 megapixel front camera and a 3 megapixel rear camera.
The tablet has Android 5.1 Lollipop operating System and runs on a quad core Cortex A7 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memeory. In addition, it offers upto 32GB of expandable memory with voice calling facility and features like WiFi Hotspot, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth and GPS.
Coolpad Cool VR 1x
The Cool VR 1x is priced at Rs 999 and is available from Amazon India. The Cool VR 1x is compatible with most of the smartphones with screen sizes ranging between 4.7-inches to 5.7-inches and with minimum HD resolution (1280x720p). Moreover, the smartphones should also have a gyroscope sensor to experience the world of virtual reality.
Company’s own handsets such as Coolpad Note 3, Note 3 Lite, Note 3 Plus and the Coolpad Max are of course compatible with Cool VR 1x headset. The Cool VR 1x headset comes with customizable lenses, which allow you to optimize the focal length and the object distance.

The UE BOOM 2 Bluetooth speaker is available at Rs 15,995. The company has also promised to roll out an updated App for the iOS and Android devices on June 21.
The Videocon Challenger V40UE is priced at Rs 3,799 and is being sold through e-commerce portal Shopclues.
