Yu Yunicorn, LG G5 and Sony Xperia X are the three notable devices to be launched this week.

This week started with a bang with Sony launching its first X series smartphones. Soon LG announced its latest flagship for the Indian market but the highlight was Yu’s latest Yunicorn. Small handset players also pitched in with few notable handsets. Read on to find out more.

Swipe Elite Plus

The smartphone is priced at just Rs 6,999 but it stuffed with high end features. The smartphone comes in Ivory White and Midnight Blue color options.

The Swipe Elite Plus has a Polycarbonate body with metal frame and features a 5-inch Sharp made IPS display with huge Full (1920x1080p) resolution which means it has huge pixel density of 480 ppi. It is powered by the mid-range 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device also comes with 100GB of cloud storage. The Elite Plus has the based Freedom operating system and is backed up by a 3050 mah battery.

The Elite Plus flaunts a 13-megapixel shooter with LED flash on the back and an 8-megapixel selfie snapper on the front. Besides, the smartphone offers Dual SIM, LTE, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The handset has a thickness of 8.4mm and weighs around 131 grams.

It will be available for purchase exclusively through Flipkart from June 6.

Yu Yunicorn

It is arguably the most anticipated launch of this week. The Yu Yunicorn was launched at just Rs 12,999 but the price will go up by Rs 1,000 next month. The Yu Yunicorn has the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. It runs on the 1.8 GHz quad core Mediatek Helio P10 processor that runs this phone with 4 of RAM. The Yunicorn has 32 GB of internal memory. It has expandable storage slot also that can hold a micro card of up to 128 GB.

The Yu Yunicorn has a 5.5 inch display that has full HD (1920×1080 pixels) resolution. Ofcourse, it has 4G connectivity. There is a fingerprint scanner in the phone as well. Besides, the Yunicorn offers a 5 megapixel front camera with Electronic Image Stabilisation. The 13 megapixel rear camera has phase detection auto focus, panorama, slow motion and HDR features. The phone promises four full days of usage and 500 hours of standby with a 4000 mAh battery.

LG G5

At Rs 52,990, the LG G5 is the costliest device to be launched this week. It can be purchased from LG stores and from Flipkart. On Flipkart, you will also get free Battery and charging cradle worth Rs 3499 as well as exchange your old smartphone to for discounts up to Rs 15,000. Currently, titan, gold and silver colour variants of LG G5 are available from Flipkart. There is a pink variant of G5 as well but we don’t know if it will be launched in India or not.

LG G5 prebooking for the Indian customers started on May 20 and was available till May 30. And if you have prebooked the smartphone during this period, you will get the LG Cam Plus absolutely free along with the smartphone.

The Cam Plus is an additional accessory that has a built in 1,200 mAh battery. So when combined, the LG G5’s battery power goes to 4000 mAh. When attached to your LG phone it offers additional surface area which you can grip onto when taking a photo, so you can do comfortably one handed. A shutter button and zoom dial are also provided on the CBG-700 Cam Plus.

The South Korean mobile phone maker unveiled the G5 earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress event.

The LG G5 has the latest Android Marshmallow operating system and 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM. It has a 5.3 inch touchscreen that has Quad HD resolution and 4. The LG G5, which measures 149.4×73.9×7.7 mm, weighs 159 grams.

For connectivity, the phone offers WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), LTE, 4.2 A2DP, GPS with AGPS and and BDS, NFC, port, and type c port. It has fingerprint sensor and will come in a dual SIM version as well.

iBall Slide 3G Q27

The iBall Slide 3G Q27 tablet features a large 10-inch HD (1280*800p) Full Capacitive Multi-Touch display with pixel density of 151. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The Slide 3G Q27 tablet has Mali 400 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up-to 32GB via a micro SD card.

It was launched this week for Rs 4,999. The iRistPro is made up of aluminum alloy body with a 2.5D curved glass with a trans-reflective display. The smart watch is fully Bluetooth-enabled but does not have in-built SIM slot. iRistPro once synced with the smart phone, displays all kinds of notifications from smart phone, lists all call logs and enables the user to make/receive calls using smart phone’s SIM via bluetooth. The smart watch also has an in-built pedometer that helps in step monitoring, distance measurement and calorie count.
