Chrome Browser has been installed on 2 billion devices across platforms

Next to Chrome are a bunch of Google products which have hit the one billion mark including Google Maps, Google Play Store, Android, Google Search and Gmail.

It’s not often when a company like Google boasts about their achievement so apparently. In the latest report coming straight from Google engineering Vice President Darin Fisher, Google claims that there are currently two billion active Chrome users across platforms making ‘Chrome Browser’ the first product from Google to hit this mark.

At the Chrome Dev Summit in San Francisco, Darin Fisher said on Thursday – “I wanted to make this point that there are a lot of Chrome browsers out there…. What’s exciting about this to you all is that when you think about building for the Web, there’ a lot of browsers out there that implement the latest web standards – that implement the latest and greatest Web features,”

However, one should note that this figure is the result of active installs and not based on active day-to-day users. There are instances when people have Chrome installed on their device but they might not be using it on daily basis. Take Windows for instance, a lot of users using Windows PC have Chrome installed on their laptop yet they might be using Microsoft more.

Though Microsoft Edge is equally capable browser, yet Google Chrome feels fast in our opinion. What do you think? Which would you pick as your primary browser? Let us know in the comment section below.
