State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a new plan for smartphone users. The plan is launched under its GSM mobile services and will come into effect from today i.e January 5.
This is a promotional offer from BSNL which will offer its customers 2GB of free 3G data with a validity of 30 days.
BSNL has said that the offer is applicable only for new BSNL GSM data subscribers with 3G capable handsets. However, after 30 days, subscribers have to buy further data packs or plans to enjoy mobile internet from BSNL.
As per BSNL, the new promotional offer is based on the government’s Digital India initiative, and that it is hoped to help subscribers experience the Internet for the first time.
Late last month, BSNL announced its partnership with Detel by announcing a new feature phone known as D1 at Rs 499.
BSNL is offering Rs 153 tariff plan, which is designed for Detel D1 feature. The pack along with the price of Detel D1, which is Rs 349, users need to pay a total sum of Rs 499. Coming to the pack, Detel D1 feature phone users will get Rs 103 talk time along with call rates of BSNL-BSNL at 15 paise per minute and for other operators, it will be 40 paise per minute. The pack comes with a validity of 365 days and it also comes with personal ring back tone, which is valid for 28 days.

Coming to the feature phone, Detel D1 comes with 1.44-inch monochrome display along with the physical keypad. The phone features a single SIM slot and it is backed by a 650mAh battery. The device comes with different features including Torch light, phonebook, FM Radio, speaker and vibration mode.
