Months after launching the Headphones 700 and Earbuds 500/700, Bose has expanded its speaker catalogue with the launch of the Bose Home Speaker 300. The new Bose Home Speaker can be bought as an alternative to Google Home or Amazon Echo as it is integrated with support for both Google Assistant and Alexa. The Bose Home Speaker 300 will be available in India for an asking price of Rs 26,900 on Amazon, Bose stores and wholesale retailers from August 29.
The Home Speaker 300 comes with a six-microphone array and has a 360-degree speaker. Bose says the microphone system will be able to retain voices even when the music is playing loud. Voice commands are now supported by both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa and users will be able to select a preferred voice assistant by default.
Packed into an aluminium body, the Bose Home Speaker 300 offers six preset buttons, touch and app control. The speaker is now also compatible with AirPlay 2 allowing streaming through Apple devices.
The Bose speaker offers Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity and can be controlled using the Bose Music app as well. There’s a thin LED strip on the front which indicates whether the speaker is listening, speaking or processing. Unlike other Bluetooth speakers, the Home Speaker 300 has no inbuilt battery and required to be plugged at all times.
