BlackBerry KEY2 Lite might launch as KEY2 LE

BlackBerry KEY2 LE smartphone will most likely be announced at IFA event to be held in Berlin late next month. The device is said to be available in Red, Blue, or Copper colour variants.

Recently, it was reported that BlackBerry is working on a new variant of the Blackberry Key2 which is said to be BlackBerry Luna aka KEY2 Lite. Now the latest leak has suggested that the company might launch the Blackberry KEY2 Lite as Blackberry KEY2 LE. Blackberry KEY2 was recently launchedin India for Rs 42,990 and it will be exclusively available on Amazon starting from July 31, 2018.

As per the report of Dealntech, the smartphone has passed through Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in several variants. The listing shows the model number BBE 100-5, BBE 100-1 and BBE 100-2. The BBE 100-1 and BBE 100-2 of the Blackberry KEY2 LE variant are speculated to launch with single SIM and multiple support. It also confirms that the smartphone will arrive as BlackBerry KEY2 LE.

All these models will be backed up by 2,900 battery and will run on 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The listing, however, does not give any information regarding the specs of the device. However, the KEY2 LE is expected to be powered by the same Snapdragon 660 as other models besides having a lower price tag.

As of now, there is no information on when the BlackBerry KEY2 LE will be launched, although reports say that the smartphone will most likely be announced at IFA event to be held in Berlin late next month. According to Evan Blass, the device will be available in Red, Blue, or Copper colour variants.

As per a previous report, the BlackBerry KEY2 LE and KEY2 will have the form factor and dimensions as the standard Key2, but with a plastic body. It is expected that the Key2 LE will also sport a 4.5-inch display just like Key2. In comparison to Blackberry Key2, the Blackberry will reportedly have less powerful specs and will feature less storage, lower processor and display resolution.
