Beetel to launch Android tablet on August 17

Beetel has denied launching the Android tablet in India but has confirmed that they are planning to launch it on 17 August with a price between Rs 10,000-15,000.

Beetel, Bharti’s handset brand, is set to launch its latest tablet PC on August 17, a spokesperson of the company told ‘The Mobile Indian’ denying reports that it has already launched the Android device in India.

While the spokesperson refused to divulge the specification of the tablet, we have learnt that it might be called ‘Magiq’ and will have 7 inch capacitive touchscreen with Android 2.2 Froyo OS and will be powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor.

Other details include a front VGA camera, a 2 megapixel back camera, 8 GB built-in storage and a 2200 mAh battery. This tablet will offer 3G connectivity and WiFi too.

The spokesperson said, “Tablet will have all the feature and specification of a high end tablet but with a price tag that will be very affordable”.
He also added that the price of the tablet will be between Rs 10,000- 15,000.

Given the specification and price, this tablet will have a wide appeal and if the Beetel manage to offer decent build quality, it will be an extremely attractive device.
