Avis India takes the app route to connect with consumers

Avis India, a car rental company, has launched its mobile application on iOSApp Store and Google to enable consumers book Chauffeur Driven and Self Drive premium cars in India. Till now consumers and corporates had the option of renting cars only through the websiteor calling the agents.

The Avis has two main segments- Self Drive and Chauffeur Drive which has two more subsections corporate and personal. Once inside the app after choosing the segment one Make, modify or cancel reservations 24/7; Redeem points for the available rewards you want – including complimentary rentals, upgrades with no blackout dates and more; get a receipt and view past rentals any time; receive Roadside Assistance for immediate help.

Through the app, as of now, one canbook self-drive cars in Bangalore, Delhi/NCR, and Hyderabad only, but you can go to their website to rent cars in other states as well.

Avis only provides premium segment, sedans, and usually, discards cars after they have clocked 80,000 km. Avis India Spokesperson, “All the drivers are bilingual, they speak Englishas well as the local language (depending on the state).”

Avis India started its operation in 1998 and is a joint venture between Avis Budget Group and The Oberoi Group. Unlike Ola and Uber which are car aggregators, it is a car leasing and fleet management provider in India. Carzonrent is its direct competitor in The country.
