Asus Zenfone Max Shot, Zenfone Max Plus M2 with world’s first Snapdragon SiP processor announced

The phones are powered by world’s first Qualcomm Snapdragon SiP 1, which comes with 14nm manufacturing processor and it features eight cores clocked at 1.8GHz.

Asus has announced the launch of two new smartphones at an event in Brazil that comes with world’s first Qualcomm Snapdragon System in Package (SiP) processor. The company has introduced Asus Zenfone Max Shot and Zenfone Max Plus M2.

The Zenfone Max Shot comes with a price tag of BRL 1,349 (approx. Rs 26,000) for the 3GB+32GB model, while the 4GB + 64GB variant is priced at BRL 1,549 (approx. Rs 30,000). The Zenfone Max Plus M2 is priced at BRL 1,299 (approx. Rs 24,800). Both the models are available for sale in Brazil.

The major highlight of both smartphones is the new from Qualcomm. The System in Package (SiP) integrates all the required components like the processor, power management, audio codec and more into a single semiconductor system in package. This helps to bring down the size of the motherboard and will help the manufacturers design smartphones in a more refined manner.

Jumping straight to the specifications part, The phones are powered by world’s first Qualcomm Snapdragon SiP 1, which comes with 14nm manufacturing and it features eight cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The chipset is identical to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC. The new chipset comes with Adreno 506 GPU.

The Zenfone Max Shot comes in two memory options including a 3GB + 32GB of internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage. The Zenfone Max Plus M2 is equipped with a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded with the help of a memory card.

The Zenfone Max Shot and Zenfone Max Plus M2 are equipped with a 6.2-inch Full display with a screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. Both the phones run on 8.1 Oreo, which can be upgraded to Android Pie. Both of them packs a 4,000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, both of them features 4G, dual-SIM, card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, and more.

On the imaging front, the Zenfone Max Shot features a triple-camera setup, which comes with a combination of a 12-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. Zenfone Max Plus M2, on the other hand, features a dual-camera setup with a combination of 12-megapixel primary lens along with 5-megapixel secondary shooter. For the front, both the smartphones are equipped with an 8-megapixel shooter for selfie and video calling.
