Asus X00GD with Android Nougat receives WiFi certification

The smartphone is likely to feature a huge 4,850 mAh battery.

Earlier this year, an Asus smartphone which goes by the name Asus X00GD was found listed on the website of TENAA – the Chinese certification agency. Now the same smartphone has received WiFi certification from the WiFi Alliance (WFA), as per a report.

As per the certification, the Asus X00GD will support single-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n (2.4GHz) and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity features. Sadly, the listing does not show any specifications except that the device will be powered by 7.0 Nougat operating system. The listing carries the certification ID WFA72486 and the date of certification being 4th July 2017.

Asus X00GD

As per the earlier TENAA listing, the Asus X00GD has a 5.2 inch display with 720×1280 pixels resolution powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor. It comes in 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM with 16GB/32GB/64GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera with flash, an 8-megapixel front camera and a huge 4,850 battery. The listing shows that the Asus X00GD features a fingerprint sensor on the physical home button on the front panel of the device.

The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with Asus ZenUI on top of it and the images reveal that it has luxury gold, rose gold, and black colour versions. Connectivity options of the device include dual SIM, 4G-LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS/A-GPS and a 2.0 port. The phone is 149.5 mm tall, 73.7 mm wide and 8.85 mm thin and it weighs 169.5 grams, according to the TENAA listing.

Sadly, no more details about the announcement of the smartphone are known at the moment but since the device has started taking the rounds online again we expect more leaks to come up in the coming days. We will keep you posted once we get more updates on this.
