Lately Asus, the Taiwanese electronics brand, is now rumored to have been working on a new low cost Android tablet, which will be powered by Intel’s Atom processor.
According to tablet.bg, Intel is working on a brand new Intel powered Android tablet featuring the Intel Atom Z2420 chipset, carrying model number ME371MG. The Intel Z2420 is the part of the low cost Lexington platform that was announced by Intel last month during the Consumer Electronic Show 2013 aimed at lowering the cost of the devices for emerging markets.
The tablet said to have the Power SGX 540 graphics chipset. There will be 1 GB of RAM and 8/16/32 GB of storage memory as option. The display will be a 7 inch IPS one with a 1280 x 800 Pixel resolution, while encasing all this in an aluminum casing that will provide strength and durability to the device, the report added.
The tablet, according to the report, is expected to be announced in the second quarter of the year with its price slated towards the sub $200 or Rs 10,000 price range which will definitely make things more exciting for users across the globe.
