Asus sets a date for MWC 2018 event, Zenfone 5 series expected

The Zenfone 5 series is said to include smartphones like ZenFone 5 (2018), ZenFone 5 Lite and ZenFone 5 Max.

Asus has announced the date of its upcoming Mobile World Congress event to be held in Barcelona next month. The company has scheduled its launch event at MWC on February 27th and it will start at 7.30pm CET (12 AM IST). The company has already started sending the invites to its launch event.

Asus has however not revealed any of the smartphone names which the company will be unveiling at the MWC event. However, a recent report has already hinted that the brand might be announcing the Zenfone 5 series at the event. Also, the number 5 in the invite hints at the possible launch of Zenfone 5 series of smartphones. The invite also confirms the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs on its next Zenfone series of smartphones.

The Zenfone 5 series is said to include smartphones like ZenFone 5 (2018), ZenFone 5 Lite and ZenFone 5 Max. At least two of them have already been leaked online – Zenfone 5 Max and Zenfone 5 Lite.

As per the Wi-Fi certification, the Asus ZenFone 5 Max will support dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n (2.4GHz, 5GHz) and LTE capabilities. The device will be powered by 8.0 Oreo operating system.

Recently, another Zenfone 5 series smartphone named as Asus Zenfone 5 Lite was certified in Russia. The certification reveals that the smartphone will bear a model number ZC600KL, where KL means that it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The number ‘60’ hints that the smartphone will bear a 6.0-inch display, however, there is no way to confirm whether it will bear the latest 18:9 display ratio or not.
