Apple is currently testing the new iOS 6.0.1 software update for the iOS devices. BGR reported that Apple has begun testing the new iOS 6.0.1 update with the US telecom operators. The new iOS software update is expected to fix the bugs such as horizontal lines glitch experienced with the iOS keyboard and folders.
Apple had rolled out the iOS 6 update last month. However, some issues were found with the update in select number of devices. One of them is the horizontal lines observed while using the iOS keyboard and folders. Besides the above, the current update will also fix the irregular cellular data connection problem which was reported by few users.
The iTunes Match will get a consolidated cellular data switch. Passbook access bug that allowed anyone to access it from the lockscreen will also be addressed with this update.
This information is quite pre-mature and we believe that the company is testing some earlier builds related to the network-side. Hence it has not been reportedly pushed to the developers. We believe that it will take couple of weeks for Apple to make this update available to the iOS 6 software update running users.
Also, it would not be a major update but mostly the one involving loads of bug fixes. The most demanded fix is for the battery life and I hope Apple iOS software engineers come out with some solution for that.
