It’s not even a month since Apple launched the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in India and rumours about the next iPhone i.e. the iPhone 8 are already floating around. With it being the iPhone’s 10th Anniversary we are expecting an overdue design overhaul after Apple failed to do the same with the iPhone 7. Usually, Apple takes a couple of year to revamp the design but this time and probably because of the next year’s 10th Anniversary, Apple skipped that pattern.
The last time Apple included an all glass design was with Apple iPhone 4S. Each year, the new iPhone remains one of the most anticipated devices and rumours and concept videos are pretty common for an iPhone. The current crop point to the possibility that Apple is likely to bring the all glass design with the next iPhone 8, as reported by Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI securities who hinted a design revamp with iPhone 8. Also, you must have noticed that the next iPhone will not be an iPhone 7s or 7s Plus but iPhone 8.
Nikkei from Japan also recently reported that Apple might launch the iPhone 8 in three size variants – 4.7 inch, 5.0 inch and 5.5 inch. Moreover, yesterday new reports appeared that Apple might include the much needed OLED display at least in the 5.5 inch variant. And interestingly Sharp might produce it for Apple after it was acquired by Foxconn which apparently is Apple’s primary manufacturer for iPhones.
Another rumour which has been in the news this week is that Apple might ditch the Home Screen button entirely with a new Touch ID enabled button inside the glass panel. Following which, stories further popped out that Apple might be planning to include a curved edged display or a bezel-less display which at this point of time is quite ambitious in our opinion.
Also, Apple is likely to retain the dual-camera set up in the bigger variant and you never know, it may be standardized for all variants with the iPhone 8.
