Apple is known for rolling out faster updates as compared to its Android counterpart. However, it seems that the brand might surprise many by rolling out the upcoming iOS 12 update to its five-year-old iPhone 5S.
As spotted by a French blog, the code in the WebKit reveals iPhone 5s running iOS 12. This could mean that the age-old iPhone 5s might get the next big iOS update from Apple. Every year, Apple revealed the cut-off model for its latest iOS devices. With the iOS 11, the cut-off model was iPhone 5. So, it is natural that with the upcoming iOS 12 update, the Cupertino-based giant will stop rolling out the iOS update for the iPhone 5s.
However, with the recent development, it seems otherwise. But it is important to note here that code in WebKit does not actually confirm whether the brand will roll out the latest iOS update for the ageing iPhone or not. The brand will announce the latest iOS 12 during Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2018.
Apple has announced that it will be holding its 29th announced Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 4, 2018, to June 8, 2018, in San Jose. The company will be holding the event at McEnery Convention Center, which is same as last year.
If you are not aware, Apple’s WWDC generally hosts all the latest and upcoming development at the software front. The global handset manufacturer is expected to talk about the latest developments for its range of devices including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Mac and HomePod. This year, Apple is likely to bring iOS 12 along with latest versions of macOS, tvOS and watchOS.
