Android Nougat starts rolling out to Nextbit Robin

The Nextbit Robin which was launched last year in India for Rs 19,999 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

The Nextbit Robin has now started receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update globally. The update has build number 88 for the Nextbit Robin and also carries January 5, 2017 Android security update. The Nextbit Robin was launched last year in India for Rs 19,999 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The smartphone was also spotted on GFXBench benchmarking website with the Android Nougat operating system earlier this year.

Users must have 2GB of free space to download and install the update as the update weighs 1.5GB. Since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it comes to your device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.

Android Nougat brings in a bunch of features including split-screen multi-tasking, more customisable quick settings, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications and recent applications window. Further, the latest Android OS version also brings in ‘Double Tap’ on the Recent button to switch between the two most recent apps which comes in very handy at times. For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with ‘Doze on the go’ which will get activated even if your Nougat running device is in your pocket.

To recall, wrapped in a plastic body, this phone comes equipped with a 5.2-inch display that has full HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It has the powerful Snapdragon 808 processor, along with Adreno 418 GPU. The phone offers good 3 GB RAM, 32 GB built-in storage, and a micro-SD card as well. The Nextbit Robin comes with 100GB of free cloud storage space.

Besides, the Nextbit Robin has a 2680 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, 5-megapixel front camera, 13-megapixel rear camera with dual tone flash and phase detection autofocus. The single SIM Robin has a fingerprint sensor, dual front speaker, NFC, USB Type-C port with quick charging facility, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS and WiFi (b/g/n/ac). This 4G smartphone has Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The handset measures 149 x 72 x 7 mm.
