Amazon has announced that users can now book movie tickets using its e-commerce application. The company has partnered with BookMyShow to sell movie tickets in the country.
With this, customers will see a new Movie Tickets category in the application. The option is also available inside the Amazon Pay tab. Amazon already allows users to book flight tickets, pay bills, recharge mobile and more with its application.
“We are happy to partner with BookMyShow to open out-of-home movie entertainment as a new category on Amazon.in,” said Mahendra Nerurkar, Director, Amazon Pay, in a statement. “Our aim is to simplify the lives of our customers in every possible way – as they shop, pay bills or seek other services. This partnership is yet another step on this ongoing journey.”
In order to book a movie ticket, users need to tap on Movie Tickets option. There users will find a list of latest movies. Select the movie you want to watch and tap on it. It will redirect to another page where you will be asked to Book Now. Click on this link and users can then select the date, region, and movie theatre. You can then select the seats and go to the payment page to pay for a movie ticket.
Meanwhile, Amazon recently revealed that its customers can now pay utility bills via Amazon Pay using its virtual assistant, Alexa. With this, one can pay bills across different categories including electricity, water, post-paid mobile, cooking gas, broadband, DTH and more. The company has revealed users of Amazon Echo, Fire TV Stick and other devices with Alexa built-in can use these features.
