HMD Global was expected to announce Nokia 2, 7 and 9 smartphones early next year. While the Nokia 2 has been recently globally announced including in India, the Nokia 7 was also been already launched in China. So now, only one device about which we heard a lot has been left announced out of these three, and that’s the Nokia 9.
- Now a new Nokia Android smartphone has passed compulsory certification in China, as per a post by a Baidu user via NokiaPowerUser. A new HMD device, under the model number TA-1054, has received the certification after TA-1041 and TA-1042. The TA-1041 was launched as Nokia 7 recently but TA-1042 still remains unknown. As per reports, TA-1042 could be a variant of the Nokia 7. However, the Nokia TA-1054 seems to be the upcoming Nokia 9.
Meanwhile, reportedly HMD Global has confirmed that they currently have no plans to launch the Nokia 7 smartphone in India. Pekka Rantala, Chief Marketing Officer, HMD Global has said “Nokia 7 is designed for Chinese consumers, so currently we’ve no plans to bring it to India”.
Based on the leaks so far, the flagship device is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD bezel-less display with a Resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. Other than this, the device is expected to powered by Snapdragon 835 Processor and will run on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. Additionally, the device will come with 6/8GB RAM along with 64/128GB of storage space. The smartphone will be backed up by a 3800mAH battery with Qualcomm Quick-Charge 4 support.

On the camera front, the smartphone will sport a 12-megapixel dual Carl-Zeiss rear camera and a 12-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The smartphone is also said to house a fingerprint scanner and will also feature an Iris Scanner as well. Further, the Nokia 9 will have IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. As for the dimensions, the Nokia 9 is said to measure 140.9 mm in length, 72.9 mm in width and 7.5 mm in depth.
Coming to the price, the device is probably to come with a starting price of Rs 55,000.
