50 GB Box storage now free for Sony Xperia devices

The free cloud storage service is available till December next year

Sony Mobile has announced the extension of the partnership with the Box, the online cloud storage service provider, till 2013. Hence now all Xperia branded devices and Sony tablets except the Xperia X10 Mini, Xperia Mini Pro and devices running 2.1 Eclair update will get the free 50 storage till December next year.

Announced at the end of year 2011, Sony Mobile (then Sony Ericsson) offered the Xperia family device owners free 50 GB cloud storage with Box service exclusively for a year. The Mobile Indian had reported about the availability of this free 50 GB Box storage till December 31, 2012.

Box is an online file sharing, storage and cloud servers based content management service, It is also available for the Android devices as standalone Box.net app.

The Xperia smartphone and Sony tablet owners need to download the Box from the Google Play Store , register/login to the App and the claim the free 50 GB storage for a year.
