If you are not aware, Snapchat has about 150 million plus daily active users and is extremely trendy amongst the younger generation.
In the latest update, Snapchat has added a bunch of new tweaks with design changes here and there. The update is only available for beta tester as of now but is expected to be rolled out for its entire user base soon. If you are not aware, Snapchat has about 150 million plus daily active users and is extremely trendy amongst the younger generation.
Coming back to the update, we tested out the new update (on Android) and feel that the first design change you will notice in the new beta update is the addition of a search bar which is visible on the main camera screen, the chat screen as well the 'Stories' screen. Tapping on this new Search Bar will pop up your contacts listed under either the heading 'Quick Chats' or under 'New Friends'. Further, you can also directly peak into the stories of users listed under 'New Friends' or tap the users under 'Quick Chats' to start a one-to-one chat with the user. Apart from that, the Search Bar lets you search for your friends, celebrities etc.
Accompanying the Search Bar at the top is the new 'Bitmoji' (Snapchat's logo) clicking which will fetch you your Profile and Setting's menu. Previously, one could only dive into the Profile and Settings menu by swiping down from the camera screen. Another notable change is the new refresh animation.
Apart from that, Snapchat has also removed location-specific restriction from stories section. The new global stories now come under the heading 'Our Stories' which will now show up things happening around the globe. Lastly, the new 'Quick Add' now also displays any pending friend requests.
