Thus, this week, we offer a list of smartphones that fall in the range of Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000, and are available in India.

Micromax Canvas Turbo A250

Micromax surprised everyone by roping Hugh Jackman, famous for his role as Wolverine, as the brand ambassador and launched the new Canvas Turbo A250 smartphone. Micromax has powered it with a quad-core 1.5 GHz MediaTek MT6589T mobile and 2 GB RAM. The handset has a 13 megapixel rear camera which is assisted by an LED flash at the back.

The Canvas Turbo has a 5-inch IPS display with full 1080p native resolution. This smartphone packs 16 GB on-board storage and also has a 5 megapixel camera in the front for video calls. The Canvas Turbo runs 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update and can run most apps smoothly. There is a Stereo FM radio for music enthusiasts and the other features include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS with APS support, Accelerometer, Compass, and a non-removable 2000 battery. This dual SIM device has been launched in India for Rs 19,999.

Nokia Lumia 625

Nokia recently announced the Lumia 625 smartphone which comes with a 4.7-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display. This touchscreen has 480×800 pixel resolution and is manufactured using 2 technology to save it from wear and tear. This smartphone is powered by dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8930 system-on-chip and 512 RAM. It has a 5 megapixel camera and LED Flash.

By default, it offers 16 GB on-board storage without a card slot and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with very little customisation.

The reason we like this smartphone is because it packs 2500 mAh battery that can be juiced out for longer time because this is not a smartphone. Sony Xperia SP touts a 4.6-inch touchscreen display with 720p HD natively resolution. The display is powered by Mobile Bravia Engine 2 technology and is manufactured using Corning Gorilla Glass technology.

Though the Xperia SP is just 9.98 mm thick, it is a bit heavy at 155 grams. Sony Xperia SP houses a dual-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960 mobile processor and 1 GB RAM. This smartphone is set to get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. Sony Xperia SP features an 8 GB on-board storage and a slot for up to 32 GB micro SD card. This the only exception in our list that hovers around the upper limit – Rs 20,000.

HTC 8X

HTC may have shifted its focus from Windows Phone 8 but the flagship 8X smartphone continues to deliver stable performance. The HTC 8X features a 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 display that supports 1280×720 pixel resolution natively. Measuring 10.1mm thick, the HTC 8X has a nice feel offering built. It houses a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 mobile processor with 1 GB RAM. The HTC 8X packs GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support for better location locking.
