Top 5 mobile deals of the week

Here are the five best deals on handsets that are good but with the discounts on them they are lucrative.

Mobile phone market is one of the most volatile one which sees significant fluctuation in price every day to say. Here is a list of such phones which saw a drop in prices.

Dell Venue Pro (Discount: 50 per cent)

Launched more than a year ago, this handset has decent set of hardware that is attractive even a year later. But the initial response for the phone was poor on two counts – it was based on Windows Phone 7 operating system which was a new operating system and it was over priced at more than Rs 30,000 price tag, though later its price was slashed to Rs 26,000.

But now, Dell Venue Pro is available with Windows Phone 7.5 (which has now matured but is still not a major operating system in India) and at an extremely low price of just Rs 12,999.

It has a 4.1 inch capacitive touch screen, coupled with a slide out Qwerty keypad, a 5 megapixel camera, 1 GHZ Qualcomm processor, and 3G, WiFi, GPS and all the other sensors that smartphones today gets.

The phone is available through Dealsandyou.com and Sulekha.com.

Spice Mi310 (Discount: 44 per cent)

Mi-310 was the second Android phone of Spice, and was quite successful initially. However, with many launches from both rivals and Spice itself meant that it was forgotten.

And now Saholic.com (Spice’s own online retail venture) is selling the phone at Rs 4,999 which makes its an affordable buy. The phone was earlier priced at Rs 8,999.

Spice Mi 310 is an Android (2.2) Froyo based phone with 3.1 inch capacitive touchscreen and optical trackpad. The phone has 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth support. It comes with 2 megapixel camera, video recording and editing features. Other features include A-GPS, proximity & accelerometer sensors, document viewer, direct access to multiple IMs and email accounts, and 16 GB expandable memory.

We have reviewed the phone earlier and it is definitely worth its price. Only drawback is that the upgrade to Android 2.3 has not been announced (we don’t think it will be announced either), but even without that Spice Mi310 at Rs 4,999 is a good deal.

Motorola Defy+ (Discount: 20 per cent)

If you are looking at a sturdy Android phone which is waterproof and dustproof, here is a golden opportunity. Motorola Defy+, which is the latest version of Defy, is available for just Rs 15,499 through Letsbuy.com.

Motorola Defy+ comes with Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) OS and 3.7 inches TFT capacitive touch screen that has scratch and impact resistant Gorilla Glass.
