Off late the handset makers are bringing top quality features such as Full HD display, quad-core or eight-core mobile processors and bigger batteries in smartphone segment. However, each phone has something unique to offer and few trade-offs, mostly software. Hereby we present five such dual-SIM smartphones.

Micromax Canvas Turbo A250

Micromax surprised everyone by roping Hugh Jackman, famous for his role as Wolverine, as the brand ambassador and launched the new Canvas Turbo A250 smartphone. Micromax has powered it with a quad-core 1.5 GHz MediaTek MT6589T mobile and 2 GB RAM.

The handset has a 13 megapixel rear camera which is assisted by an LED flash at the back. The Canvas Turbo has a 5-inch IPS display with full 1080p HD native resolution. This smartphone packs 16 GB on-board storage and also has a 5 megapixel camera in the front for video calls. The Canvas Turbo runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update and can run most apps smoothly. There is a Stereo FM radio for music enthusiasts and the other features include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS with APS support, Accelerometer, Compass, and a non-removable 2000 mAh battery. This dual SIM device has been launched in India for Rs 19,999.


HTC Desire 500

HTC continues to expand its Desire series for India with the new Desire 500 introduced a couple of months ago. Desire 500 carries typical Desire series styling and features a 4.3 inch LCD display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. The Desire 500 is powered by a quad core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 mobile chip with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB on board storage. HTC has loaded Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update with HTC Sense on top. At the rear is an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and for imaging as well as for recording 720p HD video.

HTC has packed WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with support. Beats Audio enhancement comes integrated for louder audio output. Though this device has a couple of flag worthy shortcomings over other devices, build quality is an important factor that tries to make up for those points. HTC has packed an 1800 mAh battery inside the phone.

Sony Xperia C

Sony Xperia C flaunts a 5-inch display with 960×540 pixel resolution. Though it is not HD quality, this dual SIM smartphone is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz MediaTek MT6589 mobile with 1 GB RAM to run the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comfortably. The smartphone offers only 4 GB on-board storage which might be bit cumbersome but there is memory card slot to expand the storage. At the rear is an 8 megapixel camera with LED Flash and autofocus as well as HDR. This camera can record full HD video and there is a VGA front facing camera.

Intex Aqua Octa

Intex Aqua Octa is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 mobile chipset and 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. Intex has packed a 6-inch display conceived from One Glass Solution. This display supports 720p (HD) resolution. At the rear, it has a 13 megapixel camera with auto focus while in the front it has a 5 megapixel camera. It is armed with two SIM slots one of which supports network SIM while the other is meant for 2G network.

Besides, the phone has Bluetooth and WiFi for connectivity. Intex has armed the Intex Octa with proximity sensor, and gravity sensor. Intex has loaded this octa-core phone with a 2300 mAh battery to promise 180 hours of standby time.

Xolo Q3000

The Xolo Q3000 has a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with full HD (1920×1080) resolution. The Q3000 is powered by quad-core 1.5 GHz MediaTek MT6589T mobile processor coupled with PowerVR SGX544 GPU. The Q3000 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean supported by 2 GB RAM. There is 16 GB internal storage with a memory slot to hold up to 32 GB micro card. At its rear, there is a 13 megapixel BSI 2 sensor clad camera with autofocus and LED Flash.

In the front, it has a 5 megapixel camera with BSI sensor and for video calling/chats. Measuring 8.9 mm thick, the Q3000 supports dual SIM (GSM+GSM) configuration. Xolo has packed 4000 mAh battery to run for long time.
