Indian handset maker, Xolo has introduced a new handset called Xolo Q700 Club. At Rs 6,999, the handset is the cheapest smartphone to be dust and water resistant for which it has got IP55 rating as well.
“With IP55 protection, XOLO Q700 Club offers protection from dust particles and water splash,” Xolo said in its website.
So though you cannot just take a dip in a pool with the Club like Sony Xperia Z2 but you can walk around a drizzle without worrying about its safety. The Motorola Moto G which is selling for above Rs 10,000 too has a water repellent coating but doesn’t carry any IP rating.
This Android 4.4.2 KitKat based device offers 3G connectivity via its dual SIM and has WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, and a 2000 mAh battery that claims to offer nine hours of 3G talktime.
Apart from that the Xolo Q700 Club offers a 1.3 GHz quad core processor, Mali 400 MP 2 GPU, and 1 GB RAM that should offer a decent performance. There is 8 GB of built-in storage and a 32 GB micro SD card slot in the Q700 Club as well.
The Xolo Q700 Club’s 4.5 inch touchscreen offers 480×854 pixels resolution. The screen is made of IPS technology and hence should have wide viewing angle. Besides, the phone has a 5 Megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera.
