A phone priced below Rs 10,000 with 3 GB RAM was unthinkable couple of years back but now we have not one but three such handsets – Intex Cloud Swift and Coolpad Note 3 and the Xolo Black 1X which has a price tag of Rs 9,999. The Coolpad Note 3 was launched couple of days back at Rs 8,999 while the Intex Cloud Swift is the cheapest among the three with a price tag of Rs 8,888.
So which one of them is the best? Let’s find out.
The Intex Cloud Swift has a very interesting fine criss-cross pattern design on the rear panel. The phone measures 144.5 x 72.5 x 8.9 mm and weighs 140 grams. The Intex Cloud Swift has a dull metal surround on the edges too.
The Coolpad Note 3 too is quite attractive with matte finish back panel and almost zero bezel on the left and right hand side of the display. Plus it has got curved edges and thus offers a good grip. The Note 3 has a shiny metal finish on the edges. The rear of the phone has a fingerprint sensor too. The Coolpad Note 3 weighs 155 grams and measures 151 x 77 x 9.3 mm.
The Xolo Black 1X has unique combination of leather, metal and glass finish. While metal side panels give it strength, the glass back panel gives it the sparkle and leather top and bottom panels add a bit of aristrocracy to the device. It measures 144.6*72*7.6mm and weighs 125 grams.
Thus in terms of uniquness, the Black 1X definitely above the other two devices.
The Coolpad Note 3 has a 5.5 inch IPS display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, and does not seem to have any protection. The Intex Cloud Swift on the other hand has a 5 inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and comes with Asahi Dragontrail Glass protection. The Xolo Black 1X has not only a 5 inch display with Asahi Dragontrail Glass protection but this screen has far better full HD or 1920×1080 pixels resolution making it the ultimate winner in this section.
Processor & Memory
All the three smartphones come with 3 GB RAM so it ofcourse boils down to the processor itself. The Intex Cloud Swift has a powerful quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz but the Coolpad Note 3 and Xolo Black 1X emerge as joint winners here as both of them have 1.3 GHz octa-core processor.
In terms of storage also, the Black 1X is much better as it offers 32 GB of internal memory and a 128 GB micro SD card slot. On the other hand, both the Intex and Coolpad smartphones offer 16 GB internal memory. The Cloud Swift has a 32 GB micro SD card slot while Coolpad’s expandable storage slot can only hold a 64 GB micro SD card.
All the three handsets come pre-installed with the Android Lollipop operating system. The Black 1X has a customised interface called Hive. The Intex Cloud Swift and the Coolpad Note 3 too offer mild customisation.
The Coolpad Note 3 has a 3000 mAh battery, while the Intex Cloud Swift has a 2500 mAh battery. The Xolo Black 1X on the other hand has a smaller 2400 mAh Li-Po battery that claims to offer 5 hours of browsing or 242 hours of standby on 4G network.
The Intex Cloud Swift has an 8 megapixel primary camera with autofocus, face beauty mode, smile shot, face detection, voice capture, video recording, and flash. There is a 5 megapixel selfie taker in its front.
The Coolpad Note 3 has a 13 megapixel primary camera with autofocus, 5p lens, HDR, burst shot, CMOS sensor, video recording at 1080p, and flash. In the front of the Coolpad Note 3 there is a 5 megapixel selfie taker too.
The Xolo Black 1X has a 13 megapixel primary camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. In terms of figures only, the Coolpad Note 3 and Xolo Black 1X seem like joint winners in this section too.
Connectivity and Sensors
All the three smartphones offer almost the same connectivity features that include dual-SIM, 4G, GPS (A-GPS), Bluetooth, and WiFi. However, with a fingerprint sensor the Coolpad Note 3 has an edge over the other two devices.
The Xolo Black 1X with a better display and the best storage facility definitely looks the best among the three. However, the Coolpad Note 3 still looks a good bargain as it is Rs 1,000 cheaper and it has fingerprint sensor too.
