Xiaomi sold over 2.5 lakh units of Redmi 4A in four minutes

Priced at Rs 5,999, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A features a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 processor.

Xiaomi’s latest budget offering, the Redmi 4A, has achieved a milestone as the company claims to have set another record sales. Following the 12:00 pm launch, Amazon.in and Mi.com sold more than 250,000 units within 4 minutes of launch.

Amazon says that it has witnessed huge interest with more than 5 million hits per minute on the site and orders spiked to a record 1500 per second during the period of the sale. The company has received over 1 million ‘notify me’ alerts from customers following the launch announcement on 20th of March 2017. The next sale for Redmi 4A will take place on March 30 on Amazon India and Mi.com at 12 PM.

The smartphone comes in three colour variants namely Dark Gray, Gold and Rose Gold. Though Gray and gold colour variants will be available for purchase today, the Rose Gold variant will go on sale on April 6th on Mi.com.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A features a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 processor coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. The Redmi 4A gets its stamina from decent 3,120 mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system wrapped under MIUI 8.

On the camera front, the Redmi 4A sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, a f/2.2 aperture on its back, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Besides the smartphone offers Hybrid Dual SIM, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and a microUSB port. The handset measures 139.5 x 70.4 x 8.5mm and weighs 131.5 grams.
