Xiaomi has announced that it has sold 10 million units of Redmi 5A in nine months in India. The company announced this development on Twitter and mentioned the source of information as IDC. The Xiaomi Desh Ka Smartphone sales started from December last year and it crossed the 5 million mark in March this year.

The smartphone was launched in India in November end last year. Xiaomi Redmi 5A is priced at Rs 5,999 for the 2GB RAM variant and Rs 6,999 for the 3GB RAM variant. It comes in Blue, Dark Grey, Gold, and Rose Gold colour options and is available on Flipkart and Mi.com.

Xiaomi recently launched the successor to the Redmi 5A, named as Redmi 6A in India with the price starting at Rs 5,999 for the 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant. The other 2GB RAM with  32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 6,999 in India.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A features a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution, 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor with Adreno 308 GPU. It has 3,000 mAh battery offering 8 days of standby time and runs MIUI 9 on top of Android Nougat. On the camera front, the Redmi 5A sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies with f/2.0 Aperture lens.
