Xiaomi has started rolling out the latest MIUI 9 global stable update for Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi Max Prime smartphones. The update is around 1.5GB in size and brings lots of new features, bug fixes and improvements to the smartphones.
One can check for the latest update by going to Settings> About Phone > Check for updates. With the latest roll-out, the MIUI 9 is now available for pretty much all popular phones from Xiaomi like Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi Note 4, Mi Max 2, Mi Mix 2, Mi 5 and Redmi 4 smartphones. The Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi Max Prime were in the third list of devices which were supposed to get the MIUI 9 update.
The latest MIUI 9 comes loaded with some interesting features including a Smart Assistant, a smart App launcher that suggests apps launch based on the screen and image search feature which can differentiate between photos based on the keywords one enter and split-screen functionality which would now allow you to use two apps simultaneously.
Other than this, there is a system optimisations feature and new file system, which could make the MIUI faster and more responsive. Then there is a quick reply and notification management and one can use a two-finger swipe gesture to reveal the notifications. The Quick reply allows users to reply to messages directly from the notification.
