Xiaomi Mi VR Play launched in India for Rs 999

The VR headset will be available on company's store starting from December 21.

The Mi Play, which was initially launched in China, comes with a ‘two-zipper’ design to ensure compatibility and a secure grip for a wide range of smartphones whose display sizes ranges between 4.7- to 5.7-inch. It is made of Lycra fabric which, according to Xiaomi, is skin-friendly and does not cause discomfort. At the same time, the dual openings on the front allow for slight positioning adjustments and ventilation.

The VR headset sports ann anti-reflective lens for image clarity coupled with the optical-grade aspheric lens which has a high tolerance interval of 0.01mm. It also sports a textured metal button which when pressed, a silicone button inside makes direct contact with the phone.

The Mi VR Play is Google Cardboard compatible meaning that users can enjoy the library of videos and apps on Google Play. The company has also confirmed that it will be launching a limited edition of Mi VR Play headsets soon.

Xiaomi has also launched its new live streaming app, Mi Live, along with the VR headset. The is available on Google Play Store and allows users to share daily thoughts, music talents, live videos and more with the world. The app comes with built-in features like video chat and Beautify and there is also an option of private live streaming through which you can protect your live videos and make it more private. Users can also talk to the hosts, send comments in real time through this application.
