Xiaomi Mi A1 Android Oreo beta update brings fast charging support and more: Report

The latest Beta update also decreases the app load time.

Xiaomi has already started the Oreo beta testing for its first Android One smartphone, Mi A1. The latest Android Oreo beta update brings a lot of changes and the most prominent one is the support for fast charging.

According to a report by TelecomTalk, the company has added support to the Mi A1 with the latest beta update. The report further highlights that the smartphone now takes 92 minutes to charge from 0 to 100 percent as compared to approx. two hours of charge time. This will be a really good thing for Xiaomi as its smartphones have been majorly criticized for slow charging.

The latest Beta update also decreases the load time and the animations seem to be better as compared with the latest update. The report further highlights that users will also a revamped quick setting, and settings section as well.

Post getting Oreo update, users can enjoy different features. To start with, there is a picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. So, for example, one can minimise a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email. Google has also introduced Android Vitals, which helps in optimizing battery life, startup time and more. Under system optimizations, the company had made it easier to run faster and smoother.

Then there are the Notification dots, which are basically tiny chat heads for notifications. The user can long-tap on a Notification Dot and it will preview the notification, and one can swipe to dismiss, drag down to see the full notification or tap to open the app. Google made it easier to remember your passwords with Autofill framework. This allows users to autofill the user id and passwords, which makes it easier to log in to different apps, while you are setting up a new device.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi A1 has received a permanent price cut of Rs 1,000. The device was launched at Rs 14,999 and is now available for Rs 1,000 less. So now after the price cut, Xiaomi Mi A1 retails at Rs 13,999 on Flipkart and Mi.com.

Talking about Xiaomi Mi A1, this is the company’s first Android One smartphone, which is developed in partnership with Google. The phone also comes with Google Assistant. The phone comes with Google Photos free unlimited high-quality storage. This means the photo clicked through Mi camera app, will be saved in automatically on Google Photos in high quality.
