Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 6 has been in news from quite a long time now by its various leaks and rumours. Now Xiaomi’s co-founder and vice president Li Wanqiang at the Geek Park Innovation conference on January 15 revealed some more details of the next Xiaomi smartphone which is the Mi 6. As per a report from GizmoChina, Li Wanqiang has said that Xioami will release a surprise product in March this year. However, he did not named the product but it is highly expected that the device would be none other that Xiaomi Mi 6.
Li Wanqiang also revealed that the price of the device would follow the Xiaomi tradition which pitches it in the region of 1,999 Yuan which is approximately Rs 19,758. Earlier reports have however pointed to the launch on Xiaomi Mi 6 on February 6. Recent reports have also revealed that Xiaomi Mi 6 has entered mass production. Another earlier report revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in two variants. The standard variant will sport a flat display and will come with 4GB of RAM, while the premium variant will boast a curved display along with 6GB of RAM. Both the variants will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. Now Xiaomi Mi 6 has entered mass production for both flat and curved variants.
As per earlier reports, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is rumoured to be priced at 1999 Yuan (approx. Rs 19,682) for the standard variant which is inline with the today’s report, while the premium variant will come with a price tag of 2499 Yuan (approx. Rs 24,605).
A screenshot of the Xiaomi Mi 6 surfaced recently on Chinese microblogging website, Weibo, which revealed the AnTuTu benchmark score of the Mi 6. The benchmark showed a whopping score of 2,10,329, which is the highest benchmarking score received by a smartphone ever. With such a high score, it is expected that the upcoming device could be powered by Snapdragon 835 processor.
As per earlier reports, Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to come with 4GB/6GB RAM with 128GB/256GB internal memory. It will run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and will feature USB Type C support. It will reportedly run on Android 7.0 or 7.1 Nougat update with MIUI 9 OS on top of it. For the photography, Xiaomi Mi 6 is touted to come with a 20-megapixel rear camera. It is rumoured to be backed up by a 3,000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge fast charging support.
