Xiaomi Mi 5 with 3GB RAM, Android 6.0 OS spotted on GFXBench

The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to be released on February 24.

Xiaomi Mi 5 has been in the news for quite a while now, with new claims being made every other day. Now Xiaomi Mi 5 has been spotted at the GFXBench benchmark website. The smartphone is expected to be released on February 24. It is to be noted that last month, Xiaomi itself confirmed the existence of Mi 5 and promised to launch it this month. However, it has not revealed all of its features till date.

According to the GFXBench benchmark listing, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080p) IPS display and a 2.1 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Besides, it has 3GB RAM, Adreno 530 GPU and the 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, as per the listing on the benchmark website. Besides, the Mi 5 has 64 GB of internal storage, single SIM, 4G, NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, Accelerometer, Barometer, Pedometer, Proximity, Light sensor and Gyroscope.

Last month, a Chinese website also published purported spec-list of Mi 5 which though greatly varies from the new GFXBench website listing.

The Xiaomi Mi 5, as per the Chinese website, features a 5.2 inch QHD (2560×1440 pixel) IPS display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with MiUI 7 on top of it.

Further, according to the Chinese website, Mi 5 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with two flash lights while for selfies it offers an 8-megapixel front camera. The GFXBench listing has no information about Mi5’s cameras. The Chinese website also then claimed that the Mi 5 will offer a Type C port as well as a Fingerprint sensor which will be integrated on to its home button.

Curiously, as per an earlier report, two versions of Xiaomi Mi5 will be launched in the market of which one will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage, while the other one will offer 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory. As per the earlier report the Mi 5 could be priced at 1,999 Yuan (approx Rs.20,300) for the 3GB version and 2,299 Yuan (approx Rs.23,400) for 4GB version of the phone in China.
