World’s first phone with 4 GB RAM, Asus Zenfone 2 launched in India for Rs 19,999 onwards

Asus Zenfone 2 comes in four versions including two with 4 GB RAM while the other two have 2 GB RAM whose price starts from Rs 12,999.

Taiwanese handset maker, Asus today announced the launch of Zenfone 2 in India. The Zenfone 2 comes in four versions – one model with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM priced at Rs 19,999, another with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB at Rs 22,999, another with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB inbuilt storage at Rs 14,999. All these three models come with full display. A fourth version has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB inbuilt storage but has a HD display and this is priced at Rs 12,999.

The 4 GB RAM based models have Intel Atom Z3580 that has a 2.3 Ghz quad core processor while the 2 GB models have the Intel Atom Z3560 chipset comprising of a 1.8 GHz quad core processor. Flipkart, the sole retailer of the phone, has already started taking pre-orders. It will start shipping the phones from the first week of next month (May). Curiously, there is no information as of now on either Asus India’s website or on Flipkart about the availability of the 4 GB model.
Asus Zenfone 2
All models though have the latest 5.0 Lollipop version. It has a huge 5.5 inch IPS display and 3 protection. To power up the smartphone, there is a 3000 Li-Po battery which is unremovable. The Asus Zenfone 2 has a 5 fixed focus front camera with wide angle lens and PixelMaster picture technology while in the rear there is a 13 megapixel auto focus camera with the same PixelMaster camera technology.

The Asus Zenfone 2 measures 77.2 x 152.5 x 3.9 ~ 10.9 mm (WxDxH) and weighs 170 grams. It has a micro card slot with 64 GB capacity and two SIM card slots. Note that the Zenfone 2 comes with connectivity and has WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), 4.0, NFC, and micro USB port. It has GPS with for navigation.
