Microsoft Windows Phone 8, the upcoming version of Windows Phone operating system, will be the most exciting offering from Microsoft for mobile devices till date, and Microsoft is counting on this OS to help it survive the increasingly mobile personal computing business.
Learning from its mistakes Microsoft has made many improvements over its older operating system. Social media apps, which are among the most accessed and sought after, will be an integral part of the upcoming Windows Phone 8 operating system as well.
While the older Windows Phone 7.5 operating system can get notifications from applications such as Facebook and Twitter, the newer operating system WP8 will come with these functionalities integrated for better overall experience.
As observed by Plafo.com, the demo video showcasing the Windows Phone 8 based Nokia Lumia 920 device contained hefty tips about the updated notifications that the operating system is capable of. The Windows Phone 8 lock screen as announced by Microsoft is also customizable and excitingly enough uses will now be able to add both Facebook and Twitter notifications right on the lock screen of their devices for quicker one touch access.
Although, with customization users will be able to add similar notifications for other third party applications as well, but till now it is unclear as to whether Microsoft will enable that feature or not.
