Weekly roundup: Yu Yureka Note and other devices launched this week

Just a handful of device were launched this week including the Yu Yureka Note.

This week very few devices were launched. Strangely all the devices were announced by only the Indian device makers.

Here we have listed all the devices which were formally launched in India this week.

Yu Yureka Note

Micromax was forced to launch its Yu Yureka Note after its spec and pictures were leaked by a Twitter user. The Yureka Note has 6-inch Full Display, a Mediatek MT 6753T octa core processor, 3GB RAM, fingerprint scanner (at the back), 4000 mAh battery, 13 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front camera, Dual Speakers with NXP smart PA, and Gorilla Glass 3 display Protection.

Running on Lollipop 5.1.1, the new smartphone gives users the access to a number of features including voice search, Google Drive, Hangouts for video calls, smart contact prioritization etc.

It is available at Rs 13,499.

Micromax Canvas Spark 2 Plus

Micromax launched its first Android Marshmallow smartphone – Canvas Spark 2 Plus, earlier this week. The Android Marshmallow based phone will be available exclusively on Snapdeal and is priced at just Rs 3,999. At this price it now becomes India’s cheapest Android Marshmallow smartphone dethroning the Infocus Bingo 10 which is currently retailing for around Rs 4,500.

The phone will be available for purchase on Snapdeal from April 22nd 2016 and will be available in an attractive form factor in three colours- Metallic Grey, Copper Gold and Champagne Gold.

The Micromax Canvas Spark 2 Plus has a 2000 mAh battery and offers connectivity. The Canvas Spark 2 Plus comes loaded with Indus which supports 10 regional languages. Users can type, chat or change the menu of their phone in their preferred language. One can swipe right to translate or left to transliterate their messages in the language they want to communicate in.

iBall Slide Snap 4G2

The iBall Slide Snap 4G2 tablet was launched at Rs 7,499. It has a 7 inch touchscreen with 1024 x 600 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. The device offers 2 GB RAM, 16 GB built in memory and a 32 GB micro card slot. This Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system based tablet offers a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. The device is 10.11 mm thick and is fueled by a 3500mAh battery.

The iBall Slide Snap 4G2 offers dual SIM slot with a voice-calling functionality, 4G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, 4.0, and micro-USB. The tablet comes along with 1 year iBall warranty and support for multiple languages (over 21 regional languages), with both read and write support. The tablet has 9 system supported languages and comes with a Y-cable that enables users to charge it and connect a USB-enabled device at the same time.

On the software front, the tablet comes with the Microsoft Office suite of apps with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. It also has pre-loaded apps including the 360 Security Lite and some games from GameLoft. These include Asphalt Nitro, Motocross: Trial Extreme, Spider-Man: Ultimate Power, and All Star Cricket Free.

Intex Aqua G2

Intex Aqua G2 has a price tag of just Rs. 1,990. The phone, which will be made available in the coming days, comes in Grey and Champagne colours.

The Intex Aqua G2 has a 2.8-inch (240x320p) display with of 120. It is powered by a single-core 32bit Cortex-A5 (RDA 8810PL Chipset) processor, which is paired with 256MB of RAM, Vivante GC860 GPU, 512MB internal memory, and an expandable storage slot of 16GB capacity. The smartphone runs on Android Jellybean 4.4.2 operating system and is backed up by a 1100mAh battery, which claims up-to 5 hours talk-time and of 5-6 days.

The Aqua G2 sports a VGA camera setup on rear, as well as on front panel. The rear camera has an flash and 4:3 Aspect Ratio. Futher, the smartphone offers Dual SIM, 2G, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.1, a micro Port, and Gravity sensor. The handset measures 105 x 57.4 x 11 mm.

STK Flasko

STK Accessories, a mobile phone accessories maker, launched its Bluetooth Speaker called Flasko this week. The speaker is waterproof, rugged and comes with a carry clip for hands-free carrying that also acts as a bottle opener. It is priced at Rs 5,999.

The cylindrical shaped flask design ‘Flasko’ sports built in carabiner with universal mounting capabilities. “Being splash proof, one could hang it directly in the shower without worrying about shower gel foam falling on it, or if you’re more of an outdoors kind of person, it can be attached with ease to virtually anything including a belt loop, backpack, kayak or even a sailboat,” the company said in a press release.

It has rubberized exterior while metal rings surround the speaker grille for added durability on the move. The polycarbonate outer shell and rubber over mold make the Speaker waterproof and shock resistant while the black stainless steel speaker grill cover protects the speaker cones from damage.

The water-resistant, built-to-last Flasko is packed with Bluetooth 4.0, a passive subwoofer, and a 1500mAh Lithium- Ion battery that claims to offer 6 hours on a single charge. It has a built-in microphone for accepting calls at the press of a button, and claims to have a range of up to 10m. The speaker weighs 835 grams.

It has been launched in cobalt blue and crimson red colours.

iBall Slide Co-Mate

iBall Slide Co-Mate tablet, which was found listed on company’s official website last week, was made available this week. It is now available from Flipkart for Rs 6,999.
