Micromax has an aggressive road map for this year

Micromax has been lying low for quite some time now, but it is now gearing to take the market by storm. We caught up with Rahul Sharma, Co-Founder, Micromax Informatics Limited to know about company’s 2017 roadmap.

During our conversation with Rahul, he said that the brand has a taken a step back last year, it was because they want to analyse the situation and then enter the market. “There were new brands coming and going from the market…There was a huge turmoil in the market, but slowly and steadily the dust has begun to settle,” he said.

Rahul says that Micromax believes in the massification of technology and innovation. The company will always come with products which will be meant for the masses. “We have an aggressive product lineup,” he asserted and said that Micromax will come to full force in the market.

Coming to the flagship phones, Rahul assured that its future flagship lineup with be powered by the Qualcomm processors and going forward timely software updates will be provided which was not happening in the past. To know what else he said about Micromax do view our video interview with him.

Coming to the flagship smartphones, the company will soon launch a new series known as Canvas Infinity. The brand has confirmed that the smartphone will be named as Micromax Canvas Infinity and it will be launched in India by the end of August this year.

The company reveals that the smartphone will come loaded with a 5.7-inch display and it will feature an aspect ratio of 18:9. However, the company didn’t reveal much about the device, but it is expected to the first affordable smartphone that will provide such kind of aspect ratio.

Interestingly, Micromax will become the first Indian smartphone manufacturer to adopt new aspect ratio. To recall, LG was the first brand that came up with the whole 18:9 aspect ratio known as FullVision with the launch of LG G6. Samsung followed the lead and unveiled the similar aspect ratio with its Infinity display with Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

In terms of specifications, it is expected to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, however, the series is not known at the moment. The phone is also expected to come loaded with some good camera sensors.
