WD launches two SATA client Solid State Drives (SSDs)

Both the SSDs come with the capacities ranging from 120GB to 1TB framed in a 2.5-inch or 7 mm case or M.2 2280 form factors.

Complementing its already well reputed family of hard drives, Western Digital (WD) has today announced its first SATA client SSDs – WD Blue and WD Green. The company claims that the new SSDs are ideal for DIY PCs and can help extends their life by upgrading the current on board storage. Both the SSDs come with the capacities ranging from 120GB to 1TB framed in a 2.5-inch or 7 mm case or M.2 2280 form factors.

Moreover, both the SSDs also boasts MTTF and WD Functionality Integrity Testing (F.I.T.) Lab Certification and can transfer data at near-maximum speed of SATA drives resulting in quick boot times and increased program responsiveness. To be precise, the SSDs comes with 1.75M hours MTTF coupled with less power consumption and heat when compared to HDDs. Both the SSDs also include free WD SSD Dashboard software which constantly monitors the performance and capacity.

WD Blue SSD

Ideal for a notebook or desktop PC, the WD Blue SSD comes in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities options. Perfect for high SATA performance, the SSD offers up to 545MB/s and 525MB/s sequential read and write speeds, and endurance up to 400 TBW. For the price, the WD Blue SSD starts at Rs 6,000 and goes all the way up to Rs 19,000.

WD Green SSD

The WD Green SSD comes in two capacities, 120GB and 240GB priced at Rs 3800 and Rs 5400 respectively. Perfect for everyday use, the WD Green is power consumption friendly enabling the PCs ,to which they are connected to, last much longer. For the transfer speeds, the drive features sequential read and write times of up to 540MB/s and 405MB/s and endurance up to 80TBW.

On top of the above mentioned features, both the SSDs comes with 3-year limited warranty. As far as the availability is concerned, while the WD Blue is available on Amazon India, the WD Green is available with other sellers across the country.
