Vodafone rolls out 4G in Gujarat, offering 20GB @ Rs 998

Built on 1800 MHz band, Vodafone India claims that this service will enable its customers to access high speed internet across different devices such as Mi-Fi & dongles.

odafone today announced the launch of its services in Gujarat, starting with Surat. Vodafone hopes to cover the entire state in next few months. Vodafone has already launched its services in Kerala, Karnataka, Kolkata, Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Haryana and UP East.

Built on 1800 band, Vodafone India claims that this service will enable its customers to access high speed internet across different devices such as MiFi and dongles. Vodafone’s 4G services can also be accessed through any 4G enabled smartphone.

As per Vodafone, its 4G network is built on a strong fibre backhaul and is supported by its superfast services on a new and modern network.

Announcing the launch of Vodafone SuperNetTM4G service in Gujarat, Sunil Sood, managing director and chief executive officer, Vodafone India said, “As a steadfast partner to Digital India, we are delighted to launch Vodafone SuperNet 4G in Gujarat during this second phase of our 4G rollout. 4G has the potential to revolutionize the mobile experience through powerful innovation that impacts how we work and live. Vodafone’s global expertise and experience of launching 4G across 20 countries gives us a better understanding of this technology and the needs of the 4G customer. Following overwhelming response received in Kerala, Karnataka, Kolkata, Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Haryana and UP EAST, our customers in Gujarat can now enjoy the world’s largest 4G network experience from today.”

In future, Vodafone SuperNet 4G is likely to get introduced in West Bengal and in 1,000 towns across the country by end of the year. The nine circles of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana, Gujarat, UP (E) and West Bengal, together contribute to just about 70% of Vodafone India’s data revenues.

In Gujarat, Vodafone is offering free upgrade to 4G and as per the operator, it is offering 4G data packs at 3G prices. As per a press release issued by the operator, data packs start from as low as Rs 8 (Benefit: 30MB). Vodafone 4G subscribers will also get 3 months access to Vodafone Play and as a welcome offer, they can avail a special pack that offers 20GB of 4G data at Rs 998.
