Vivo has launched a new smartphone under its Y series which is named as Vivo Y79 in China, as per a report of GizmoChina. The Vivo Y79 comes with a price tag of 2,498 Yuan which is approximately Rs 24,637 and it will be available for sale from 11 November in China. It comes in Black, Rose Gold, Matte Black and Champagne Gold colour options. The phone is already available for pre-orders at Vivo Mall, Vivo’s Official Stores on TMall and JD.com.
The Vivo Y79 smartphone is essentially the rebranded variant of the Vivo V7+ smartphone which was launched in India earlier this year. The specifications of Y79 are the same as of the Vivo V7+ except for the chipset. While the Y79 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor the V7+ comes with Snapdragon 450 chipset.
The smartphone comes with a metal unibody design and features a 5.99-inch FullView HD display. It carries an aspect ratio of 18:9 along with an 84.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. The major highlight of the smartphone is the 24-megapixel moonlight selfie camera with aperture f/2.0, face beauty 7.0, video calling-face beauty mode, group selfies and portrait mode. The smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF quick focus, aperture f/2.0 and LED flash.
The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.0GHz.The device is backed by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via micro SD card. TheVivo Y79 runs on Funtouch OS 3.2, based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat and is backed by a 3225mAh battery.

The device comes with face access, which is basically facial recognition and it also features a fingerprint sensor at the back panel. It also comes with Hi-Fi AK4376A chipset for an immersive sound experience. On the connectivity front, it supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, and dual-SIM. The device measures 155.87 x 75.74 x 7.7 mm and weighs 160 grams.
