Vivo Y55s with 3GB RAM, 13MP camera officially launched at Rs 12,490

The smartphone will be available across the country in crown gold and space grey colours.

Earlier in the day, we have reported that a smartphone named ‘Vivo Y55s’ found listed for purchase on one of the Indian online retailer website, now the said smartphone has been made official by the company at Rs 12,490. As per company, the Y55s smartphone will be available across the country from 26th February 2017 in crown gold and space grey colour options. The Vivo Y55s will succeed the older Vivo Y55L smartphone, which was launched in India in October last year for Rs 11,980.

Jumping straight to specifications, the Vivo Y55s features a 5.2-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It is fueled by a 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 64-bit processor, paired with Adreno 505 graphics processor. Coming in at Gold colour option, the smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up-to 256GB via microSD card.

On the camera front, the Vivo Y55s offers 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. The camera features include f/2.0 Aperture, Auto Focus, Contious Focus, Digital Zoom, Geo tagging, Panorama, HDR, Touch Focus, Face Detection, White Balance, ISO Setting, Exposure Compensation, Self Timer, Scene Mode, and Screen Flash.

The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is wrapped under Funtouch OS 3.0. The Y55s smartphone gets its strenght from a 2730 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery, which claims to deliver talk time of up to 11 hours and standby time of up to 250 hours. Besides, the smartphone offers Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wifi-802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, GPS/A-GPS, a microUSB port, Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor and also comes with Eye Protection Mode. The handset measures 147.9 x 72.9 x 7.5 mm and weighs 142 grams. Moreover the smartphone comes with ‘Smart Screen-Split’ feature, that allows users to multi-task without having to switch back and forth every time a message pops up.
