Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has today launched its new smartphone in India with in-screen fingerprint scanner – the Vivo X21. The smartphone is priced at Rs 35,990 and will be available for sale exclusively on Flipkart from today. One can also buy the Vivo X21 on Vivo official E-Store. Vivo had initially put the phone up for pre-booking on its website and was charging Rs 2,000 as a pre-booking amount. Vivo X21 comes in Black colour.
Flipkart is offering certain launch offers with purchase of Vivo X21 which includes an extra Rs 3,000 off on regular exchange value, 5 percent cashback on SBI credit cards, and no-cost EMI up to 12 months on all credit cards. The Vivo X21 will be available across selected offline stores also from 29 May.
The Vivo X21 will be the first phone in India to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. It features a 6.28-inch Super AMOLED screen with a Resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9.It runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, with a layer of Funtouch OS 4.0 on top. It is also eligible for Android P Beta as per what was revealed at the Google I/O conference.
Vivo X21 switches the rear fingerprint sensor with the latest In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology to maintain the sleek and unified design of the smartphone. As soon as the user touches the screen, the OLED display gets activated to illuminate the finger. The optical fingerprint sensor under the OLED display recognizes and captures the reflected light from the unique fingerprint pattern which is processed by the sensor for authentication.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 2.2GHz octa Processor coupled with an Adreno 512 GPU. It has 6GB of RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage options and expandable memory up to 256GB via micro SD card slot.
For the camera department, the Vivo X21 has a vertical rear dual camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 Aperture and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture with LED flash. On the front, there is a 12-megapixel front camera which has features such as a f/2.0 aperture, IR fill light, 3D mapping, and Face Wake facial recognition. It has a 3200mAh battery with Fast charging support.
Vivo X21 has connectivity options like 4G LTE with VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 with OTG support, and GPS. The device measures 154.5 x 74.8 x 7.4mm and weighs 156.2 grams.
