Fring, which provides video calling services for Android devices, has announced an update to its smartphone application.
With this update the app can support newer devices such as the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Note. Along with that the application now offers better video quality than before. The Fring application makes use of DVQ (Dynamic Video Quality) technology, a creation by Fring labs. This technology ensures better video and audio transmission by automatically adjusting video and audio quality based on the type of internet connectivity available on the device.
The updated Fring app has removed a bug that used to automatically delete chat history, so chats will not disappear automatically.
Also, Fring Playgrounds will only be available as part of the original Fring application. Although Fring had decided to make the Playgrounds application a stand-alone one, this news comes as a bit of a shock for Fring users. The updated Fring mobile app is available for download from Android Market and users can also download the application from this link.
