HTC has propelled the selfie camera smartphone war to altogether a higher orbit by announcing its new Desire Eye smartphone with a 13 Megapixel front camera that too with two LED flash lights. In the rear too, the handset offers a 13 megapixel rear camera and two LED flash lights. However, it does not have a rotating camera module as Oppo N1.
The HTC Desire Eye has been announced in the US yesterday and may soon come to India but there is no word yet from the company regarding the same.
The HTC Desire Eye has a 5.2 inch display with full HD resolution. Notably, the smartphone is water and dust resistant and weighs just 154 grams. This 8.5 mm thick smartphone has 16 GB of internal storage and has a 128 GB micro SD card slot. There is 2 GB RAM in the phone. The HTC Desire Eye has Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, and Android 4.4.2 Kitkat operating system.
The Desire Eye comes with a nano SIM slot and is most likely to offer 4G connectivity in India too. Besides, it has GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support for navigation. NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA, and Micro USB 2.0 port is there in the phone for file transfer while WiFi (a/b/g/n) with WiFi hotspot and WiFi Direct facilities are there for internet connectivity.
The highlight of the phone is ofcourse its cameras as stated above. For perfect selfies, the front camera of Desire Eye has auto-focus plus zoom capabilities, a BSI sensor and f/2.2, 22mm Wide-Angle lens.
The rear 13 megapixel unit has BSI sensor with f/2.0 aperture, and 28mm lens. This camera can capture Full HD videos. Both cameras come with a suite of HTC Eye Experience camera software perks, including Screen Share, Split Capture, Auto Selfie, Voice Selfie and Crop Me In functions.
