Swipe has announced an affordable smartphone, Swipe Marathon, with a huge 4000 mAh battery. The handset is priced at just Rs 4,599 and claims to offer 60 days of standby back up.
Other attractions of Swipe Marathon include a 1 GHz dual core processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB in-built storage, a 4.5 inch display, 5 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. The handset has Android KitKat 4.4.2 operating system and comes with dual SIM, offering 3G connectivity.
Speaking at the launch, Shripal Gandhi, founder and chief executive officer of Swipe, said: “Swipe Marathon will truly be a consumer’s delight as it addresses the needs of user for whom speed and long lasting performance matters. We have been trying to make communication simpler and faster and our endeavor remains the same with Swipe Marathon.”
Handsets with such huge batteries are not new. Lava Iris Fuel 60, Intex Aqua Power, Spice Stellar 518, Micromax Canvas Power are other few smartphones below Rs 10,000 which too come with a huge 4000 mAh battery. Few other phones like Xolo B700, BSNL Champion DM6513, Celkon Millennia Epic Q550 have slightly smaller yet huge batteries, of about 3500 mAh capacity. The Swipe Marathon has though the distinction of being the cheapest device with such a huge 4000 mAh battery.
