Sony Mobile is working on a new tablet with quad core processor, according to a report. NetbookNews, which reported this, claimed to have spotted benchmark results of a purported Sony tablet with model name V150 with quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor and Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Sony has two Android OS based tablets – Tablet S and Tablet P, in its product line up. Like most other Android OS based tablet makers, Sony also appears to be advancing toward quad-core mobile platform.
Nenamark 1 benchmark results list a Sony V150 device that uses a quad-core 1.4 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor and runs Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. The display resolution of the tablet is listed as 1280×752 which is not quite odd considering the Sony Tablet P with dual-screen design and Tablet S with 9.4-inch display. This tablet is most likely to support 720p HD resolution natively.
The Sony V150 appears to be the Tablet S successor on the charts and we can expect Sony to show this tablet sometime in the second half of this year. Considering the physical design of the Tablet S and Tablet P, all eyes would be prying Sony to bring its quad-core tablet with new and innovative product design.
